Mei Songlin is Vice President and Managing Director of China Operations for J.D. Power Asia Pacific. He is responsible for the management and
development of the company’s automotive business in China.
Since joining J.D. Power Asia Pacific in 1999, Dr. Mei has held several roles, including General Manager of the Client Service and Research Practice, in which he was responsible for both automotive and retail banking business development, client services and new study development. He has also contributed to the company’s research processes in the Singapore office.
Prior to joining J.D. Power Asia Pacific, Dr. Mei was a research scholar at the National University of Singapore in the area of new product management. Previously, he was a market analyst at Eastern Communication, a Motorola-affiliated wireless telecommunications manufacturer.
Dr. Mei is a frequent contributor to various automotive publications and a frequent speaker at conferences, seminars and on television. In 2006, Global Entrepreneur Magazine selected Dr. Mei as one of the Chinese Business Elites Below the Age of 40.
Dr. Mei received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Jilin University of Technology; a master’s degree in systems engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University; and a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering from National University of Singapore. Dr. Mei is an active member of the Academy of Management.
